Integrating Technology
"The most important thing that schools can do is not to use technology in the curriculum more, but to use it more effectively"
John G. Palfrey and Urs Gasser
The Theoretical Framework of Teaching

As we can see from this visual explanation of our theoretical framework of teaching, technology, subject content, and the ways in which we teach cannot stand alone. In order to acheive the personal and educational success of our students, it is imparative that we properly assess each child and appropriately integrate each one into their educations. The end goal for teachers is to have a strong foundation of technological pedagogical content knowledge. This being said, a teacher must be knowledgable about the content of which they wish to teach. They must be able to create a suitable pedagogical way to teach their students this content. Finally, a teacher must have knowledge of technology- how it works, what it can be used for, and proper times to integrate it. Put all of these factors together and a teacher can effectively teach their students.
As stated by Dave L. Edyburn in the book Inclusive Technologies: Tools for hleping Divers Learners Achieve Academic Success, "Teachers operating this domain are able to align curriculum objectives with appropriate technology tools." Teachers should be able to take the curriculum standards, integrate technological tools, and in turn, create a differentiated classroom based on the diverse needs of each student.
Inclusive Technologies also states, "One important characteristic of the Information Age is that there are far more options than ever before. As a result, we will take the position that no single tool will meet the needs of all students: One size does not fit all. Our task is to explore how to harness the power of technology to engage students in meaningful learning in ways that promote high levels of academic achievement." Technology has a place in teaching; with all the different types we are able to choose which would best fit each of our students' needs. So, we know that there are many technologies available to the current generation, now we need the familiarize ourselves with all of these and figure out how to use them to access the knowledge that we desire our students gain. How? Technology assists teachers in this way. Here are many different resources that can help a teacher achieve the central goal of this educational framework.
